New Class

When you click New Class in the Component Manager, the following dialog displays allowing you to create a new base class to store in your project. Only the class is created with no graphical elements associated with it.

Component Class Name Enter the class name for the new component class using the normal class naming conventions.
Display Label Enter a descriptive label for the component. This will be the name which will display in taskbars, tooltips, etc.
Description Enter a brief description of the new class.
Target Schema Displays a drop down list of available Target Schemas to store the new base class.
Source Schema The value in this field is what populates the component base class section. This allows you to inherit a base class component's properties to use as a template when creating a new component class.
Component Base Class Displays a list of the component base classes in the Source Schema to use as a template for the new component class.
Class View

Flat: Displays all of the components in the Source schema.

Single Hierarchical: Displays the base classes with their components collapsed in a tree view.

Full Hierarchical: Displays the class components list at its most basic compressed state.

Display by Label When enabled, the component base classes are displayed using the display labels assigned to component classes. (i.e. the label that displays on the P&ID.)
